THE BEST SELECTED AND CONTROLLED STOCK
Historical sources attest that goat species is one among the first animal species to be domesticated. In the last century, in Apulien, where the region traditionally is bonded to agriculture, a decreased of goat raising has been noticed in favour of dairy cattle species.
This is the reason why we decided to raise goats in order to give value to this small-sized animal species, which produce milk, a fine and noble food resource.
We started the breeding activity with a small stock quantity and today we have about 600 lactating stock. The breed of the raised stock is called Saanen and Camosciata della Alpi which allow to reach ideal production and quality standards for the transformation.
Stock are raised with a free housing system in modern facilities built in compliance with animal welfare standard and characterized by the presence of automatic food belts, goat house with automatic milk feeders and separated waterers in order to manage at best the animal vital phases from the weaning, restock until the gestation. During some period of the year, animals are brought to pasture in order to browse in our fields.
Each stock is registered in the herdbook that records father and mother traceability, which allows to follow and to prove the genetic stock selection.
